Hello everybody !!I 'm really enjoying very much the experience of being in Malta and of living with maltese guys...

Yesterday we discussed about the organization of this programme and almost of us said there are some crtitics point.
We would have liked having MUCH MORE TIME to share informations about the relationship between mentor and student in each country. We all know just somethings about the way of teaching by mentors.

However, I think it is been a pleasure to share 12 days with so many people, with their severals differents ways to be.

Moreover..I enjoied to have some dinners eating Maltese typical food !!!

I'm going to have my lunch with all others italian guys !!!

Recipe of pesto alla genovese !!!

Pesto alla genovese

• 1 bunch of basil (the leaves without the stem)
• half glass of Carli Olive Oil, extravirgin recommended
• 1-2 garlic cloves
• one handful of pine nuts (or walnuts if those are unavailable)
• 3 spoonfuls of grated Parmigiano Reggiano

Put all the ingredients in a blender and mix until the right consistency is reached (not too much otherwise the blender will raise the temperature modifying the taste). If the pesto is too thick you can add some olive oil or a few spoonfuls of the water used to cook the pasta before serving.

Hy guys !!! today is a relly busy day...oh...we decided to have 5 different group, each of them composed by a person of each country...
I am going to describe what you can do in Florence during your free-time, and how my hospital is organized in.
I enjoied the week-end with the people who are in my same group, for that reason I have a feeling with them and I am sure we are going to do an amazing work !!!

I have just ended my work and I'm going to have my lunch !!!

What Chinese animal is your year?!?

Uhm...what chinese animal is my year...I'm a tiger !!! ROARRRRRR ;)

This morning I felt myself really envolved about what we was talking about.

Every kind of teaching general nursing is different, however we a some things in common...

In Italy we have the same way of teaching nursing of Satakunta University, firstly because the subjectes are really close and secondly because the hours of theory and practice are almost the same.

At the same time, in Malta and in UK the organization is similar... they have every year about 2300 hrs of theory and the same hrs of practice.

What I basically found interesting is that in Middlesex University the mentor "is a nurse with a special mentor postgraduate course, totally composed by 1/2 year. I read the peace of paper that Middlesex gave us, and there was written that "mentorship is an NMC requirement that students are assessed by a qualified mentor".

In Florence , when you finish your training, you have a peace of paper where your "mentor" have to signed what and how practice you did. Thanks to this "passport"( as is called in Satakunta University), your "mentor" assesses you in the practice setting. That does mean that, if you have a qualificated mentor you'll have a nice assessment. If it is not, pray and hope to be lucky !!!

What's more, we all need a final examination test to became definitly a NURSE. After that you must be registered with a professional body that in Italy is called IPAVSI.
